Light up Stevenage

Good afternoon, everyone.

Hope you are having a lovely Saturday. I have been busy this weekend before it began. 😄

The reason behind it is that where I live, in Stevenage Hertfordshire, there is an event called Light up Stevenage. My daughter's school is in partnership this year, and they planned a parade for the school children to participate in. So, they were given homework in preparation for today. They had to make an eco shaker or wand.

So, being a crafter, I was already 1 step ahead and grabbed some bottles from the craft cupboard and my Phomemo sticker maker. Bonnie picked the festival pictures she wanted to use, and I printed them out for her to colour.

Then, adding a few pasta shells for noise, we covered them with the sticker strip. She was so happy with the outcome and how loud they were in the house.

We found out there was a big day just before the parade, so we went to Town and headed to the workshop. I thought they got to pick on make, but when we arrived, the organisers gave us a Kaleidoscope Kit to make at home and said we could make a tea light holder and want in the workshop. Bonnie was so happy, and away she was with the glue dots and Gems like a pro. One of them asked if she likes crafting, and I said she is used to this as I make cars and loves helping. But now, I could not help myself. I let her decorate the wand and was away making the final touches.

She absolutely loved it, and I was proud to help. She was a bit sad when it was over and the parade was over, but I treated her with a babychino and cookies, and she was happy again.

Even though I didn't do a lot of crafting today, I have a few projects coming up, so I am on the laptop getting the prep done now. But I will share what she has made this week as she asked if I can share it with my crafting friends.
